Our Private Client Department works closely with clients as they journey through life.
We understand the importance to clients of being able to plan for the future and ensuring that your affairs can be looked after should you be unable to do so for yourself. A 'Continuing and Welfare Power of Attorney' enables a trusted individual to manage your finances and welfare should you ever lose the capacity to do so personally.
Powers of Attorney can be drafted quickly and cost effectively so as to reflect your individual circumstances and wishes, whilst also being flexible enough to make certain that your trusted Attorney is able to deal with any conceivable scenario.
Should a Continuing and Welfare Power of Attorney not be available we can help you take control of the affairs of a loved one. Intervention or Guardianship Orders can be obtained following a relatively simple court process and our Private Client Department will guide you through the court process and assist with any ongoing administration required after an Order is granted.
We recognise that making a will is not simply a means of setting out your wishes for the passing on of assets and wealth to family members. It is an important part of all your financial planning strategy and can act as a unique tax-planning tool that can significantly minimise the effect of inheritance tax. At the same time, our solicitors are adept at listening to their clients needs and ensure that they prepare wills that - no matter how complicated family circumstances may be - state clients' wishes clearly.
Our experienced and specialist executry lawyers and paralegals deal with the administration of estates efficiently and sympathetically whilst removing as much stress as possible for all those involved at what is always a difficult and challenging time. We deal the winding up as promptly as possible, keeping our clients regularly updated, and are always aware of the desire to keep costs to a minimum.
Our Executry Unit are also conscious of the impact an inheritance can have on the financial affairs of beneficiaries and work closely with our IFAs in order to ensure beneficiaries are afforded the best possible advice as to the transfer, encashment and reinvestment of estate assets.
We also appreciate that family circumstances can be complex and that the rights of the beneficiaries of an estate can be competing. It can be important that beneficiaries obtain independent representation and we offer impartial advice to clients who have concerns about their entitlements from an estate, while at the same time being aware of the frequently sensitive nature of the circumstances.
